Michael A. Manning, AIF®, MBA
CEO of The Manning Companies
Michael is the CEO of The Manning Companies. He has more than 35 years of experience providing financial planning, wealth management, and asset management advice. He has a wealth of knowledge related to proper investment allocation, retirement planning, portfolio management, estate, and income tax minimization, charitable planning, and wealth transfer strategies.
Michael's primary responsibilities include staying current on investment, insurance, and planning strategies; providing counsel to clients and financial advisors at the firm and making sure business operations continue to run smoothly; and keeping an eye on the ever-changing regulatory environment.

Bill has more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, is securities registered and insurance licensed, and is a registered representative and investment adviser representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.
Bill is a senior financial advisor at Manning Wealth Management, which allows him to work with individual clients. In this role, Bill is experienced in assisting clients with financial planning, asset management, risk management, legacy planning, charitable giving, and tax reduction strategies.
In addition, Bill is the president and co-founder of MWM Retirement Solutions. His role is to organize, formalize, and implement each client’s fiduciary process and monitor how it affects each retirement plan. He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) and a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) designee, both of which represent a thorough knowledge of and ability to apply fiduciary practices in an individual and employer retirement plan setting. When providing investment advice, Bill acts as a fiduciary in the best interest of his clients and takes pride in his ability to implement prudent policies and procedures.
Bill resides in Coronado with his wife, Brandy, and their two children, Wyatt and Vivian. Bill leads an active life and enjoys cycling, golfing, kayaking, exercising, and taking his kids to the beach. Bill is an avid sports fan and also enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and reading.
Roger D. Groves, CLU®
Senior Financial Advisor, Manning Wealth Management, Inc.
Roger has been active in supplying Investment and Insurance services to individuals, companies and unions with clients across the country and internationally. His specialty is the design and administration of qualified and non-qualified employee benefits and retirement plans.
Roger earned a BS in economics from Arizona State University and an MS in administration from the University of California, Irvine. He has a professional designation from the American College of Chartered Life Underwriter and was active in the formation of the National Institute of Pension Administrators and wrote two of the original exams.
Roger and his wife Rhonda just celebrated his 50th business anniversary. They have a home in Monarch Beach, California, and a residence in Jackson, Wyoming. Roger is an avid automobile enthusiast having restored and competitively shown cars nationally, while Rhonda raises and shows English springer spaniels. They have two grandchildren who live in Orange County with their son David, who has worked with Roger in the employee benefits field since 1998.
Heather R. Nicholas, AIF®, CLTC®
Heather has more than 21 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, is securities registered and insurance licensed, and is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®. She is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) and holds the Certified in Long-Term Care® (CLTC®) designation, which focuses on the profession of long-term care planning.
Heather is an analytical and driven financial professional who builds strong, trusted relationships with the clients she serves. She is dedicated to helping people create plans to secure their financial and retirement goals and works with her clients to implement strategies to work toward their goals and maintain their lifestyles. She is an advocate of not only building wealth but protecting the wealth and legacy of their family.
Heather was born and raised in San Diego and now resides in Scripps Ranch with her husband, two sons, and daughter. Her husband is a U.S. Navy veteran and naval aviator now working in the private sector. She enjoys working out, yoga, snowboarding, outdoor activities, country music, and family time. She speaks Chaldean, a dialect of the Arabic language, and has a BS in business administration with an emphasis in finance from San Diego State University.
Walter D'Souza, AIF®
Director of Retirement Plans
Walter has worked as a financial advisor for more than 20 years, specializing as a retirement plan consultant. He is well-versed in retirement plans for small to mid-sized businesses and 403(b) retirement plans for nonprofit organizations. He has earned the Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) designation from the American College of Financial Services.
Walter is a firm believer in educating people on personal finance. Through his work with nonprofits, he has had the opportunity to speak to high school and elementary school students about managing money and finance. He has also worked with first-time homebuyers on saving money, reducing debt, and avoiding financial pitfalls.
Walter lives in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego with his wife, Kimberly, and daughter, Clara. He likes to spend his weekends in the quiet desert town of Borrego Springs. He collects vintage stereos and records and has an extensive collection of both. His collection was even featured at an art gallery where he was persuaded by the gallery owner to list some of them for sale, a mistake he vows never to repeat.
Tina C. Emmet
Director of Operations
Tina has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. She initially worked at Moody’s Investors Service in New York and subsequently worked for an investment bank in Columbus, Ohio. While at those firms, she worked in corporate credit analysis, commercial real estate finance, and affordable housing (LIHTC). Since joining The Manning Companies in 2015, Tina has primarily focused on client relations, adding the role of director of operations in 2020.
She earnedher BA from Smith College and her MA from Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs. Tina’s volunteering efforts include PAWS of Coronado (where she fostered kittens), the Old Globe Theatre, and the Coronado Historical Association.
After many years of living in Coronado, Tina now lives in downtown San Diego. She enjoys spending time with her three adult children, attending live theater and Padres games, and traveling to her hometown of NYC where one of her daughters resides.
Camellia E. Perez-Hunter
SENIOR CLIENT SERVICE ASSOCIATE
The Manning Companies are pleased to welcome Cammy E. Hunter-Perez to our Manning Wealth Management Team as a Senior Client Service Associate.
Cammy Hunter has 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. She has been a member of The Manning Companies since July 2023. As a member of the team, she coordinates client relationships between the Irvine, CA office and the San Diego, CA office. She helps facilitate the opening and maintenance of individual and retirement accounts. As a member of the Operations team, she helps facilitate the opening of new accounts and ongoing account management.
She was born in Fresno, CA, and has resided in South Orange County for 27 years. She is an avid sports fan including baseball, hockey, and tennis. She enjoys watching Angel baseball games, baking delicious desserts, traveling, volunteer work, and spending time with her friends and family.
Reanna C. Guerrero
Senior Client Service Associate
Reanna has been with The Manning Companies since 2020 and has worked in the financial industry for five years. As a member of the Operations team, she helps facilitate the opening of new accounts and ongoing account management.
A native San Diegan, Reanna resides in North Park. Reanna loves to travel, spend time with her family, go to the beach, go to brunch, and entertain.
Senior Client Services Associate
Brandy began her career in the financial industry in 2004 when she obtained her licenses through Merrill Lynch. During her time at Merrill, she realized the importance of compliance’s role for advisors and staff and decided to pursue a career in this area. She has worked in advisory compliance, social networking compliance, and advertising review with various broker dealers. In these roles, she was responsible for conducting surveillance, developing surveillance processes, and maintaining and creating social networking policy and procedures. She has also been a panelist for several SIFMA conferences, discussing best practices for social networking.
She is excited to be a part of The Manning Companies’ team and provide support to the advisors in developing their financial plans. She aims to broaden her industry knowledge and position herself as an asset to the clients and the entire team of The Manning Companies.
Brandy is originally from Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Information Systems Management. She moved to San Diego in 2006 and met her husband Bill shortly after. They have two children, Wyatt and Vivian, and a pug/beagle mix named Roy. In her free time, she enjoys cycling classes, weightlifting, and volunteering at her children’s school. During the holidays, you can find her baking sourdough and desserts for her family.
Elizabeth G. Steffanic
Office and Marketing Coordinator
Elizabeth has been with The Manning Companies since 2020 and is responsible for making sure the office runs efficiently and smoothly. As a result, her many responsibilities include client and advisor communications and scheduling, marketing management, and acting as the primary tech liaison. She is from Modesto, California, and moved down to San Diego in 2014 where she now resides in BayHo. She enjoys traveling, playing piano, relaxing at Kate O. Sessions Park with a better buzz Coffee in hand, and being a mixologist for friends and family.
Denise B. Pomplun
Client Service Associate
Denise has been with the Manning Companies as a client services associate for retirement solutions since 2022. A local to San Diego and an SDSU graduate, Denise enjoys spending time in nature with her pets, tending to her plants and garden, cooking, collecting vinyl records, and giving back to her local Latinx community.
Kira E. Ferguson
Kira has been with The Manning Companies since 2021 beginning as a finance intern, then transitioning to a paraplanner in 2023. She supports advisors in day-to-day financial planning needs including preparation and follow-up on client meetings, data gathering, financial plan and scenario modeling, and presentation development.
Kira is currently pursuing a bachelor of science degree in business administration financial services with a minor in marketing at San Diego State University as a part of the class of 2025. She is the president of the Financial Planning Association on campus, which aims to help others learn more about financial planning.
She is a San Diego native who loves the outdoors and spending time with loved ones. She enjoys going to the gym and trying out local coffee shops. After college, Kira plans to attain a master’s degree overseas and become a financial advisor.
Robert L. Adamson III
Bobby will be assisting in day-to-day tasks with the operations team and the advisors and getting as much experience as he can during his summer here with us.
Robert is a San Diego native going into his third year of school at Arizona State University. He is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in communications and plans to graduate in 2025. Robert is currently a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and oversees rush and philanthropy. He enjoys golfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and he has a love for all sports.
Jennifer P. Steffanic
Jennifer has been with the Manning Companies since February 2023 as an administrative assistant. She will be assisting the advisors in keeping your portfolio up to date, doing day-to-day tasks with the operations team, and answering phones. Jennifer is from Modesto, California, but after a visit to San Diego, she knew this is where she wanted to reside permanently. She enjoys reading, traveling, and music, especially when it comes to BTS.
